Bass Pro Denham Springs

After the crawfish boil/egg hunt, we headed to Denham Spring to Bass Pro.
We had no clue that the store had a swamp monster...... rrrraaaaahhhh!!!! Oh, it's only Mia!

Crawfish Boil/Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Saturday we were invited to The Strapola's (Penny's mom) for a crawfish boil and easter egg hunt.

Here are all the kids getting ready to put icing on their cupcakes. They could choose what icing they wanted....most picked chocolate. Charlie, next to Mia in orange, didn't want to wait for the icing and he started eating his cupcake as soon as he picked it off the plate. Icing the cupcakes..... Charlie's still eating his without icing.
Eating more icing off the knife than putting on the cupcake....Charlie's cupcake is half eaten, knife in hand, but, still no icing.
Licking more icing from the knife.....Charlie's finished his cupcake!Bennett enjoying his strawberry icing from his cupcake.Mia and Robert sword fighting.

The egg hunt....okay, not much of a hunt. Ms. Joanie must have had over 150 eggs filled with candy. It was a large laundry basket filled to the top. Too many eggs to hide so they were scattered over the front lawn.

Mia's eggs she collected. The kids had to empty their buckets and go back for more.
Charlie's finding surprises in his eggs.....chocolate candy!
YUMMY!
Mia's prize and easter baskets.

Happy Belated Easter!

Easter Bonnet

Mia needed to make an easter bonnet for school. So, we made a paper mache bonnet. Here's the before picture. In progress...Mia painting her bonnet. She picked out the color.
Still drying but finished......She had paper flowers and bunnies made out of easter eggs.
Here she is at school in the cafeteria with all the classes showing off their bonnets

Lawn, Flowers and Logan

Mia and Ryan cut the grass for the first time this year. Mia didn't want her daddy to run over all the flowers in the yard so she pick a lot of them. I made flower necklaces while they cut the grass. This was after dance pictures and the curls are still holding up.
Mia and Logan. Our next door neighbor is watching her future son-in-laws new puppy, Logan. Mia LOVES this puppy. She's now into picking him up and walking around with him. He's a cute, cute puppy.
Holding and walking around....that's what she likes to do with him.
Look how CUTE!!

The Sound of Music

After we pulled her "nasty" hair back, she was happy. Here she is in her ballet costume. They wiull dance to a song from The Sound of Music.

PRICELESS!!! Read before you look at the pictures

It's Saturday morning and Mia slept with foam curlers in her all all night so she could have curly hair for her dance pictures like she did last year. She made it through the night with some tossing and turning trying to get comfortable but didn't wake up or ask that I take the curlers out mid night.

So, we go into the bathroom to take the curlers out and she looked like Shirley Temple and she even said that she looked like Shirley Temple when she looked in the mirror. After she looks, she flips her head over so I could fan my fingers through her curls to separate them and get her hair fluffed out.

When she looked in the mirror again at what her hair looked liked after being fluffed, she started CRYING and said "I don't like my hair like this, it's not pretty, it looks nasty". I asked her if she wanted to go wash it and we could get the curls out and she said no. Well, this went on for a few minutes and all I could do was crack up laughing while she was looking in the mirror crying that she didn't like her her that way. It took EVERYTHING not to laugh and upset her more. She thought that she was going to take her pictures looking like she did. I laughed some more and told her that we were going to style her hair and pull some back to look pretty. Then, she was okay with her curls.

I am cracking up laughing now as I type this. It is SO funny and everytime I think of what happened that morning, I can't help but crack up laughing. So, here's the pictures I took when she had her breakdown of not liking her hair and thinking she was taking pictures like this......

If looks could kill, I think I'd be dead by now. I think Sybil or Regan paid Mia a visit in this picture....

Mia's in the tub right now and she hears me laughing and is asking what I'm laughing it. I told her I was looking at her picture with the curls when she got mad and she said "oh". I asked if she remembered the pictures and she said "my hair looked nasty".

SO, if you're having a bad day and need a pick-me-up, just come to the blog and look at Mia!

Group Dance Pictures

Last Wednesday was picture night for Mia's dance class. We went only to take her group picture with her class. We went back on Saturday to take individual pictures with Kaitlin and so I could have more time to style her hair.

For the review, her hair will be in a pony tail like it is here: Mia and Michaela. Michaela went to Primary Colors with Mia. When they were in the infant room, Michaela's mom went to pick her up, she picked up Mia instead. They looked alike with no hair and brown eyes....not anymore.
Here's most of the class and what they will look like together on stage.

Emberlynn's Party

Emberlynn had a Chuck E. Cheese party and Mia LOVES to ride the horse. She was getting into the game. She used to hang onto the saddle and not the reigns. Now, she grabs the reigns.
Still not a fan of Chuck E. Cheese. She stood her distance but did the birthday dance.
As you can see, she's the furthest from Chuckie BUT she did take a picture.

Sandy in Mia's bed

One Saturday morning I climbed in bed when Mia woke up and then Ryan came and then Sandy jumped in the bed too! This is probably the 2nd time Sandy did this. Mia's bed is very high off the ground. Sandy's right at home with her head on the pillow and stretched out.

OLL to the Zoo

Mia had a field trip to the zoo and we tagged along. She was the line leader that week so she got to be first for everything. So excited to get on the bus first with Ms. Parris!
She decided when we got into the zoo that she would hang with the boys. Here she is with Matthew, Daniel and Samuel.
Cool cat! I know, a Tiger. If you click on the picture to enlarge it, you will see the white tiger looking straight at you!
It was a cool day so the animals were somewhat active.
The monkey on the top of the pole kept making this wierd calling noise. Then, the below it would answer the call.
A snack activity. Here she is with the boys again.....

Running from each other. I think she was chasing Brady.
Climbing the oak tree.....with the boys.
Checking out the racoon.
Hitching a ride with Claire back to the front of the zoo for a special animal show.
Here's the special animal show....Ms. Ketha is showing a bunny and you could touch it with your two fingers. As you can see, Mia didn't touch it....she was too busy chowing on pop corn.
