SMA first day of school - 1st Grade

This was Mia's first day of 1st grade at St. Matthew the Apostle. She woke up early and all by herself.....which was a surprise because all summer she didn't do this...I guess too excited about the first day of school.

Modeling her new backpack that has an attachable lunch box with her name on it as well.

Here she is sitting at her desk. She's the first desk when you walk in the class. She's also been given the job of being the first in line to lead the kids out of class when they have a fire drill. "In Charge" - not surprised. :)

Beach Vacation - Portofino

This year we chose Portofino Beach Resort & Spa on Pensacola Beach as our annual summer beach vacation. We were in the Penthouse of Tower 3. (Click picture to make it larger) Below, Mia got a mouth full of salt water on the first day while searching for sea shells. Then, she found a beautiful shell and all was forgotten.
Mia's second front tooth was loose and ready to come out. As usual, it was hanging by a thread. I told her I'd put a string of dental floss around it and pull. We tried a few times and it wouldn't come out. Then, I couldn't get the floss off her tooth and the pouting began (the first picture). Mia tried to pull it out a few times and as we were all talking, it came out! We laughed so hard (all pics with her mouth WIDE open).

Elmwood Cheer Camp

This was Mia at the end of her first day of Cheer Camp.......

Spring Piano Recital

Mia had her second piano recital. She was the first to perform and played: Twinkle, twinkle little star, I'm a little teapot and Skip to my Lou. Ms. Shelia presented everyone with a musical note pin.

Front Tooth

Mia lost her front tooth at SMA Camp eating a hotdog! She said she bit into the hotdog and it came right out. No wonder, she lets them hang by a thread and won't pull it out.

Mia & Bella

Mia LOVES Grandmas new dog, Bella (aka Mini Winn Dixie, Bella Luna) because she is small and Mia can pick her up. Mia carries her around like you would a toddler...on her hip.
