Mia in the school parade

Mia was asked to be in the school parade for Catholic School Week. The theme was "Light the Way" and we had to decorate her wagon around the theme. We chose stars to "light the way". Each star had her teachers and her classmates names in the middle. Her poster board says:
"Just as we use stars to light our way on earth, God provided light for all mankind with the precious Savior's birth. Let's shine with Ms. Parris' Pre K-1 Stars and you can help LIGHT THE WAY". Here's her wagon..
And the back of her poster board. Since the parade also kicked off the mardi gras holiday (they are out the entire week) we added some purple, green and gold to her "float".
Here are the 4 parade riders from her class: Rachel, Mia, Brady and Chandler.
Everyone next to Mia's float.

Mia and Caroll (Michelle's sister). Pope John Paul was asked to come march in the parade. Caroll is a cheerleader for Pope.
These are Mia's classmates yelling for her to throw them something. Claire has the big mardi gras hat, Carlee has the pink coat with the hood on, Lindsey has the pink coat with her hand out.

We're getting closer. Alexis has the purple sweatshirt, Corryn has the maroon coat, Ms. Parris in the black leather jacket, Lindsey is facing Ms. Parris, and Sarah (in her uniform) is yelling for Mia.
More of her class...Emberlynn is the blonde, Daniel has the spear, Matthew has the blue sweat shirt.

Line Leader at Dance Class

Mia was the line leader at dance class. I didn't know it until the came out of the studio and I saw that she was first in line with her tamboreen shaking it to "the mardi gras mambo". She got a certificate and a ballerina doll key chain to attach to her dance bag.

Slidell Parade

Mia and Kaitlin waiting for the parade to start. We went to Italian Pie for pizza and walked to the street for the parade. Such a pretty horse! Reminds me of the Clydesdales.

Play Day

Kaitlin and Michelle came over for a few hours. Here they are playing tag in the backyard. Taking a break after drinking icee's I got this cute picture of The Three Muskateers.

Kenner City Park

One of the days we were at the Kenner house cleaning, I decided to take Mia to the park by City Hall that I call "Kenner City Park". We bought a loaf of bread so she could feed the ducks. They didn't have too many ducks out eating. I think someone had already fed them by the time we got to the park.
She had a blast on the playground. They had 4 different slides and she tried every one of them. I think this was her favorite..the one that twirls around.
This was a fast one.
I put her in the wagon and when I got to the front to take her picture I saw the "Keep Off" sign. Oh well! We were quick and they one had one other person at the park walking the trail.

The Boat Show

Mia and I played a simulated boat ride game where you had to go inbetween the posts of billboards. According to the guy who ran the game, we did great. Mia drove the entire game even when the ride got bumpy from the waves. Here's the screen and you can see the billboards on the right and left.
She had a blast casting. Over the span of a few hours that we were at the show she probably did this 10 times. We had many corks, key chains and plastic baits in her bag when we left the show.
Ryan and the helm of the yacht. Mia wanted to climb in all the boats big and small.
This was the boat they climbed in and Mia was so excited to tell me that they had beds in this boat.

Dress Up

We've been cleaning out the Kenner house and one day Mia decided to play dress up with her great Grandma's scarfs and mink and her Grandma's shoes and purse.

If we were still in the 80's she'd be Madonna #2. She was scared of the mink at first because she thought it was real with the eyes, teeth and claws. Then I showed her that one of them was bitting the other on the hiney butt and she laughed and thought it was funny.

Christmas morning

7:30 a.m. Mia woke up and wanted to see what Santa brought. She wanted a pony.....and she got one!

Mia's Birthday Party

Still celebrating her birthday....

The night before we had a front move through so the weather was cold and windy but at least we had a sunny day.

Here's the birthday girl holding "freckles" the hen. This is "fancy". Love this litte goat. She is so soft and acts like a puppy.
On the BIG horse. She went all by herself the entire day. Normally she'd have someone walk along side of her.
Sam with "cutie pie". She's about 20 pounds and it's ears drag the ground. Very soft and cuddly.
Vanessa is Mia's friend from Primary Colors. Every year (this is the 4th year we've had Zoo 2 U for Mia's party) I get a picture of Vanessa and "sugar pie". They have the same hair color.
Mia and Michelle. They both had on the same boots.
Christopher (Mia's classmate at OLL) with "gatorade". He was reluctant to hold the alligator at first but he did it!
Michelle with "gatorade".
Sarah holding "gatorade" and Mia holding the baby pig who doesn't have a name yet. Did he squeel! He go out of the pen so it was a hoot watching everyone chase this pig around the yard to get him back in the cage. He was very fast!

Lindsey and Mia with "freckles".
Mia with "sugar pie".
Caroline on the small horse (forgot the names of the horses).
The line for the horse rides. Collin, Vanessa, Mia, Michelle, Caroline and Michael.
The gang at the party.
