Disney, get ready, half of New Orleans is headed your way for Mardi Gras.....Including US! We're on our way....
The Rodriguez Family, The Callahan Family, The second Callahan Family, The third Callahan Family, The Jessup Family, The Zelden Family, and many more of our friends and their families too. Our WONDERFUL travel agent, Lori Ann, give her a call at AAA, Slidell, was at Disney too but we didn't get to cross paths. We ran into Mia's friend Joshua from school and Ms. Molly, Mia's teacher was there too but we didn't get to see her either. We ran into a friend from Mia's old school, OLL, Emberlyn's dad and sister on the tea cups. We had GREAT weather, no rain at all and just a great time on our third trip with Mia. Still have not seen all of Disney and can't wait to go back!

The many characters of Disney with our family and friends......

The different modes of transportations and rides........

SPLASH MOUNTAIN - Oh Boy! We fast passed between Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain Railroad all day. I think we rode SM at least 5 times and TMR at least 6 times that day. Mia had a blast! OH, she also rode SPACE MOUNTAIN AND MOUNT EVEREST!!! and LOVED them.

SMA Mardi Gras Parade

Mia was in the SMA Kindergarten Mardi Gras Parade as "The Little Mermaid". She colored the poster that is attached to both sides of her wagon. We left for Disney World the next day hence ...Disney or Bust....on the back of her "float". Her friend Bevin was the Queen and Joshua, who we ran into at Disney World on our first day, was King. She had two bags of beads and about 25 cups and ran out of throws. She had a good time at the "Ball" putting on the mardi gras mask, eating king cake and having Capri Sun with her friends, King and Queen.

Father/Daughter Dance

Mia's Daisie Troop at SMA, along with all the other troops, had a Father/Daughter dance in the MBC at school one Friday night. Mia was surprised to get a corsage to wear to the dance. The dance was a few hours and Mia had a blast dancing with her dad and friends to a DJ.

George comes to visit for the week

George the class project monkey came to visit for the week. Mia had to document what she and George did for the week and journal what they did. George came home and met Sandy....doesn't she look enthused with George on top of her head?!?!, then he went to dancing and met some of Mia's dancing friends and hung out on the ballet bars, he played in the rain after school, went to piano and helped play a song, visited the eye doctor and took an eye test to make sure he didn't need glasses and hung out with Bevin and Mia. George survived his week and Sandy didn't attack him once.

Mia's first piano recital

Mia had her first piano recital after only 6 weeks of lessons. Ms. Shelia Marriott's piano students presented A Christmas Recital, 2008. Although Mia did not perform Christmas songs, she performed Mary Had a Little Lamb and Old MacDonald and did a GREAT JOB! Once Ms. Shelia set her up on the piano, she played her songs all by herself.

Happy 6th Birthday Party

Mia had her birthday party at Kammy's Cottage. Ms. Dana taught the girls true tea etiquette with real china tea cups filled with lemonade and saucers with a cupcake. The girls dressed up for their tea experience with gloves, hats, boas, and jewelry. After the dipped apples in chocolate and decorated them to take home. What a great party! All the girls enjoyed spending the day together.
